BAMBOO AN AMAZING PLANT
Well a grass in fact.
Grass that can grow at the incredible rate of 3-100 centimetres a day! A grass that requires minimal water and is naturally resistant to pests. Additional to this, bamboo is harvested without uprooting the plant. This means no ploughing and no fertilisers, a crucial benefit to our waterways and eco system. More over the yield gathered from a crop of bamboo is 10 times greater than that of cotton, and 25% greater than that of most tree plantations that also turn woody plants into rayon. Research has also shown that just one hectare of bamboo can absorb up to 100 tons of CO2
STRONG AS STEEL

Bamboo is strong! So strong in fact, that in many countries bamboo is used as scaffolding. With a tensile strength 5000 PSI higher than mild steel, it’s no wonder they choose environmentally friendly, readily available and super strong bamboo over heavy, rigid and bulky steel.
Yet ! SOFT AS SILK
“Bamboo fabric is so beautiful and soft, wearing it against the skin leaves an impression that ultimately makes you seek it out”
From Scaffolding to luxuriously soft clothing and linen, furniture to skin and beauty care, medical supplies to dinner ware, it’s no surprise there are enthusiasts promoting bamboo in all its applications.
VERSATILE AND THAT’S NOT ALL
INCREDIBLY SOFT
Bamboo fibres are round under the microscope, and after processing, allows for superior ventilation and absorption. This is due to the cross section of bamboo fibres which are filled with various micro-holes. Unlike cotton, bamboos micro-holes allow for moisture to be wicked away from the surface of the skin, giving incomparable aeration and comfort to the wearer. In addition, the antimicrobial properties and smoothness, make it a fantastic choice for those who suffer skin disorders,
ANTIMICROBIAL
Deep within bamboo there is a substance known as ‘bamboo-kun’. This ‘Kun’ has natural antimicrobial properties and is what gives bamboo its natural resistance to pests. The great thing about Kun is that it persists through the manufacturing process, allowing clothes and textiles to retain these desirable antimicrobial properties. These antimicrobial properties have been reported to aid in the treatment of bacterial infections such as Staph. It has also been documented that bamboo socks help in the treatment of bacterial and fungal conditions, such as athlets foot.
UV PROTECTION
Another interesting discovery about bamboo fabric is that it offers 60% more protection from UV rays than cotton.
